Whether you need a microwave or a muffin tin, toys or a towel rack, here is your chance to get some bargains and support your community.   Five local non-profit organizations are teaming up to hold a yard sale where you may find “everything AND the kitchen sink.”

Harrisburg’s CONTACT Helpline, Habitat for Humanity, CROP Hunger Walk, Pro-A, and Gift of Help will team up on Saturday August 6th, from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm, to host a yard sale on the lawn of the PA United Church Center (900 S Arlington Ave., at the corner of Arlington and Londonderry roads, Harrisburg, PA ).

Habitat for Humanity will have all kinds of construction items at the yard sale.  Windows, fixtures, vanities, maybe even a kitchen sink.  CONTACT Helpline and the other organizations (with the help of volunteers) will donate more traditional yard sale goods.  “Volunteers are essential to our organization” says Cathy Haynes of CONTACT Helpline, “this will be a fun way for our all of us to interact with the community we serve.”  In addition to donating items for the sale, volunteers will participate as helpers on the day of the event.   And St. Mark’s church, right next door to the yard sale, is holding their BBQ.  So after some shopping you can get a delicious lunch all in one stop.

All proceeds will go to the five local non-profit organizations.  For more information call CONTACT Helpline at 717 652-4987.
